Sep 28 Tue    Pozzuoli – Cuma – Capua –Caserta

Bus drop off in Via Celle to see the necropolis and a well-preserved section of the Roman road (is temporary closed, but a part of it is visible from the street). Guided visit of the Anfiteatro Flavio. Walk by the acropolis of Rione Terra and Augustus Temple now the Cathedral (both damaged by the last quake in July 2026), see the Church of Santa Maria at the harbor commemorates Paul’s visit, and the Macellum /Serapis temple. Free time for lunch. After that, we follow the route of the Via Capua Consularis to ancient Capua, modern Capua Santa Maria Vetere. Guided visit of the Archeological Park of Capua. From here we will walk to the Arch of Hadrian for photos. Leaving Capua, we will pass two notable tombs on the Via Appia: La Conocchia and Le Carceri Vecchie. Sep 29 Wed   Minturnae – Formia – Itri – Fondi – Terracina

Drive to Minturnae and visit the archeological park and its aqueduct. Drive (above 1 hour) to Formia. Organized lunch. After that, visit the Cicero’s Tomb in Formia (subject to special permit).After passing through Itri (NO STOP THERE) proceed for Fondi. We will enter the ancient forum through its monumental city gate. Continue driving (30 min) to Terracina. Visit the Temple of Jupiter Anxur. Then walk on the Roman forum of ancient Terracina near the Duomo, which stands on the podium of the Temple dedicated to Roma and Augustus.Dinner and overnight in Terracina area. Sep 30 Thu    Terracina – Three Taverns – Ariccia–Castel Gandolfo

In the morning, depart for Rome, passing the Forum of Appius and hopefully visit the archaeological site of the Three Taverns(only if it will be open for visiting in 2027, actually, non included on the packageprice),both mentioned in the book of Acts.Then we will stop for coffee break at the McDonalds in Frattocchie (ancient Bovillae) where the wellpreserved road section is visible. From the Via di Cecelia Metella we reach the Via Appia Antica, having lunch at the Appia Antica Caffe (on your own, not included on the package). We then walk on the Via Appia passing many funerary monuments including the Mausoluem of Cecilia Metella. We will have a guided tour of the San Sebastian Catacombs. Afterwards we will walk to the Quo Vadis Church where Peter traditionally had a vision of Jesus. There we will reboard the bus and drive by the Arch of Drusus, which was the original Mile 1 of the Appian Way. After passing the Porta San Paolo and the pyramid of Gaius Cestius along the Via Ostiense, we drive to Ostia to visit the archeological park of Ancient Ostia which has the remains of a Jewish synagogue. The nearby Basilica of Saint Aurea marks the spot where Augustine’s mother Monica died in 387. Returning along the Via Ostiense while tracing the final days of Paul. We visit the Church of Tre Fontane and the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the places where he was purportedly executed and buried. Overnight Rome (B,D)
